Bohemian Cosmetics was born from the founder Ivana P.'s deep personal need to understand how the human body functions as a whole and how this whole affects skin health.

"Since childhood, I observed skin problems in my family. Later, I found out that I myself suffer from psoriasis. It was this autoimmune disease that led me to a fundamental question: why does skin react the way it does, and what truly affects its condition?"

This question became the beginning of a deeper study into the functioning of the human body as an interconnected system.

"I started focusing on nutrition, body balance, and the relationship between the body's internal environment and skin condition. I completed professional training in nutritional counseling to better understand how internal balance – including the state of the microbiome – reflects on skin health."

Gradually, it became clear that the skin is not an isolated organ, but part of the entire organism.

"I understood that the skin always reflects the state of the body as a whole – its balance, burden, and regenerative capacity. This very principle became the foundation of Bohemian Cosmetics."

Personal experience

When the founder's children were born, new challenges emerged – atopic eczema, ichthyosis, and extremely sensitive skin.

"Daily itching, dryness, and discomfort became part of our lives. I tried many products and approaches, but I was still looking for a solution that would be truly effective and also respect the natural functioning of the skin."

The search for a solution eventually led to a return to simplicity.

"I started creating the first formulations at home, based on our family recipes – without water, without synthetic fillers, only from lipids and plant extracts that are natural to the skin. These initial formulations gradually became the foundation of Bohemian Cosmetics."

Return to simplicity

Bohemian Cosmetics products are not created as isolated cosmetics. They are created as part of a broader approach to the body that respects the natural functioning of the skin.

"Our goal is to create care that supports the skin without burdening it. That's why we use only natural ingredients that are biologically compatible with the skin – meaning those that the skin can naturally accept and utilize."

The same principle is reflected in the approach to packaging.

"For me, packaging has never been separate from the product. Just as the skin is part of the body, the packaging is part of the entire product. Therefore, it must be equally natural, equally gentle, and respectful of nature's natural cycles."

Composition inspired by skin biology

Bohemian Cosmetics products are based on bioidentical lipids that are structurally very similar to human skin lipids.

Thanks to this compatibility, they support the natural functioning of the skin barrier and help the skin maintain its balance.

"At the beginning, we decided to work with simple but exceptionally functional raw materials."

Key ingredients include:

• organic beef tallow from local sources
• medicinal herbs from Czech organic farms
• CO₂ extracts in their purest form
• vitamin E
• delicate certified essential oils

The formulations are anhydrous, stable, and highly concentrated. They contain only ingredients that are truly beneficial for the skin.

Packaging as part of the product

The brand pays as much attention to packaging as it does to ingredients.

"Just as carefully as we select each ingredient, we also thought about what kind of packaging truly makes sense."

Bohemian Cosmetics uses an innovative new-generation biopolymer that decomposes in home compost within approximately 12 to 18 months.

The material naturally returns to nature without forming microplastics.
